During the 1920s the house of Chanel had expanded considerable and the couture pieces keep coming. Many of the garments that Chanel designed had some what of a boyish figure and everything was somewhat casual in comparison to the rest of the fashions of the 20s. During the early 20s is also when Chanel made her fragrance Chanel No. 5 and this fragrance is still as popular today as it was in the 20s.
The classic Chanel jacket and the layers of pearls are among some of the major influences she had on fashion. Chanel created timeless and classic pieces that everyone wanted. Even to this day there are still these staple pieces that everyone wants in there wardrobe.
Chanel took a small break during the Nazi era and then in 1954 returned to the fashion world. Chanel continued her legacy and died of a heart attack in 1971. Karl Lagerfeld joined the house of Chanel during the 1980s and continues to be the creative designer for them.
